Replacement Lid Sealer for HI02 (HI04)

Replacement Lid Sealer for HI03 (HI10)

Replacement Glass Plate for HI02 (HI37)
ca. 380 x 380 x 15 mm (15 in x 15 in x 0.6 in)

Replacement Glass Plate for HI03 (HI38)
ca. 650 x 650 x 20 mm (25 in x 25 in x 0.8 in)

Stainless Steel Basket HI09

Stainless Steel Basket (HI09)
Insert with foldable carrying handle. Fits the small Heidelberg Plastination Kettle, HI02. Facilitates specimen immersion into and removal from the impregnation bath and also serves as drip-off grid.

Vacuum Tubing (HI12)
For connecting vacuum chambers, vacuum pumps, vacuum adjustment devices, and solvent separators. Material: silicone. Inner diameter: 9.5 mm (0.4 in).

Vacuum Tubing HI12

Separator for Oil and Solvents (HI13)
Condensation and collecting vessel for extracted solvent and oil vapor generated during the forced impregnation process. Consists of a plastic barrel with removable lid. Lid has connectors for vacuum tubing. Vacuum tubing is used to connect the separator with the vacuum pump on the one side and waste air exhaust on the other side. Available in two sizes: HI13-1, capacity 15 L (4 gal, suitable for the small Heidelberg Plastination Kettle HI02) and HI13-2, capacity 50 L (13 gal, suitable for all larger vacuum containers). Vacuum tubing (2 x 2 m / 2 x 80 in) included.

If the separator is placed inside a freezer, virtually all of the extracted solvent can be recovered. At room temperature, only partial recovery is possible.

Vacuum Adjustment Valve (HI14)
Simple needle valve for the manual control of negative pressure during the process of forced impregnation via admission of external air.

Vacuum-Adjustment Valve (HI15)
Consists of a Y-shaped vacuum tubing system with two Vacuum Adjustment Valves (HI14). Allows for finer adjustment than a single valve

Separator for Oil and Solvents HI13

Vacuum Pump Oil (HI18)
Of low vapor pressure. Suitable for all vacuum pumps we offer. Viscosity: 225 mm2/s at 25 °C.

Bennert Manometer (HI20)
Vacuum meter with sliding mirror glass scale for easy parallax-free reading. Measuring range: 0 to approx. 230 mbar, graduation of scale: 1 mbar, connectors: glass fittings, weight: approx. 450 g (1 lb).

Digital Manometer (HI22)
Measuring range of 0 mbar to 1100 mbar, absolute; resolution: 1 mbar, power supplied by 9 V battery (included), available with (HI22-2) or without (HI22-1) 230 V power supply. Casing: ABS black. Dimensions: 30 mm x 86 mm x 150 mm (1.2 in x 3.4 in x 5.9 in; h x w x d).

Vacuum Adjustment Valve HI14

16 m3 /h—for impregnation baths of up to 160 L (42 gal, recommended for the large Vacuum Container HL12).

Vacuum Pump (HI36)
6 m3/h

Vacuum Adjustment Unit HI15

The required pumping speed for a plastination
vacuum pump depends on the volume of the
impregnation bath. The rule of thumb we
recommend following is a speed of 1 m3/h per
10 L (2.6 gal) of impregnation bath. For the small
Heidelberg Plastination Kettle (HI02), for example,
with its average filling volume of 15 L (3.9 gal) of
impregnation bath, we recommend a pumping
speed of 1.5 m3/h. When in doubt, opt for the
lower of the two speeds you are considering.
